The Galilee is lush (at least in winter and spring)
and filled with lots of water.
Jesus' public ministry was centered around the Sea of
Galilee. At least once, he was farther north, by
the snow-capped Mount Hermon, on the outskirts of
Caesarea Philippi. The passages below are a suggested
